Marian institutions get their identity from the name “Mary”. There are many institutions all over India especially educational, called by the name of “St. Mary”. Who is this Mary? She is the mother of Jesus. He is God incarnate through the instrumentality of Mary.
As a mother she is the most ideal teacher who formed Jesus, her beloved son, with utmost dedication, commitment and care. The St. Mary’s Schools, as institutions of formation of human character excel in their dedication and commitment after Mary’s example. Christians fondly call her “Mother Mary”. That will explain why every child wants to be a “Marian” and parents consider it a pride to get their children admitted in “St. Mary’s School”.
St Mary’s, Sambhal, is one such educational institution. Our intention and aim is to form the whole human person of the child that steps into the portals of this temple of knowledge. It is a place of integral education, towards a holistic growth. It means helping the children and the young to develop in a harmonious way, their physical, moral, spiritual, emotional and intellectual abilities and all the God given gifts, so that they may gradually acquire a sense of responsibility to form their own lives well balanced, enabling them to take a stand in the society. Thus each student leaving this school is able to face the challenges of life.
Often we find the students, parents and school authorities pre-occupied and worried about completing the syllabus and preparing for the most crucial event, namely, examination. Most of us look upon ‘Result’ as the sole indicator of success both for the students and institutions. Consequent to this trend, the formation of students remains only a documentary evidence than the personality development of the child.
It is our effort, at St. Mary’s, Sambhal, to give life experience and not mere basic skills to pass the examination. Ample opportunities are provided to the students to acquire these qualities through various activities and programs. We help the students to be self confident, express one’s ideas freely and creatively, to be just, fair, honest and respect one another. All these experiences and events help our students to find meaning in life and develop a well balanced personality.
We believe and trust in God’s providence that our efforts never go waste. May God bless us all.
